Greetings from New Zealand
Meet your luxury travel designers and personal guides, Wayne and Kathy—Queenstown locals with a lifetime of global exploration behind them. Both seasoned travellers, they’ve lived in Europe and Australia (Kathy is originally Australian) and, in 2010, sold everything to embark on a two-year journey around the world with their children.
Along the way, they experienced nearly every style of travel—small special-interest tours, wildlife and history excursions, hop-on-hop-off sightseeing, and self-driving adventures in a motorhome. That epic journey inspired them to create New Zealand Luxury Travel Agents, the VIP division of New Zealand Private Tours, dedicated to offering the kind of travel they loved most: intimate, personalised experiences with exceptional attention to detail.
Today, Wayne and Kathy design and host unforgettable journeys through New Zealand, sharing its breathtaking landscapes, rich stories, and warm hospitality—all with the seamless service and refined touches that discerning travellers expect.

Wayne is a born-and-bred South Islander, with a deep connection to Central Otago and a genuine passion for sharing the region with guests. His relaxed, positive nature helps people feel at ease, and his friendly sense of humour is part of what makes travelling with him so enjoyable.
Wayne’s South Island roots run deep. His father once raced against Burt Munro, the legendary Invercargill motorcycle racer made famous by The World’s Fastest Indian. It is the kind of local story that reflects Wayne’s strong connection to the region and its people.
As a past President of the Queenstown Photography Club, Wayne is also always happy to help guests capture the perfect photo. Whether you prefer to be behind the lens or in front of it, he knows the landscapes, light and scenic viewpoints that make this part of New Zealand so special.
Wayne believes that travel should feel personal, relaxed and memorable. His goal is for guests to feel well looked after, enjoy the journey at the right pace, and leave with a real connection to the places they have visited.

Kathy’s warmth, local knowledge and love of travel are at the heart of New Zealand Luxury Travel Agents. Helpful, friendly and naturally people-focused, she enjoys getting to know each client and understanding what will make their journey feel special.
With years of experience planning private New Zealand itineraries, Kathy has a talent for bringing together the right accommodation, guides, experiences and pace to create a journey that feels seamless and personal. She loves problem solving, making connections and finding those special touches that turn a trip into something truly memorable.
“You just can’t beat a local recommendation; some things aren’t mentioned in the guidebooks. We had an experience like this in Iceland when a local told us about a hidden hot-water mineral pool. It took a lot of searching, but in the end we found it. The water was warm and crystal clear, the kids were so excited, and it became a real highlight.

Jen is a New Zealand travel specialist with over a decade of local experience and a genuine love for sharing the beauty of Aotearoa. Having lived in Central Otago’s renowned wine country for many years, she brings strong regional knowledge, a passion for scenic journeys and an understanding of the special places that make New Zealand so memorable.
Her love for the Deep South has now led her to settle in the seaside town of Riverton, often called the “Riviera of the South.” From this beautiful coastal base, Jen brings a deep appreciation for New Zealand’s southern landscapes, local communities, wildlife, coastline and relaxed way of life.
Jen specialises in creating personalised itineraries that showcase New Zealand’s diverse scenery, boutique accommodation, wine regions, unique culture and exceptional experiences. With her warm approach and local insight, she helps design journeys that feel thoughtful, well-paced and tailored to each guest.

Sheena Tunnicliff is originally from the UK and now proudly calls New Zealand home. Since moving here, she has fallen in love with the country’s spectacular landscapes, welcoming communities and hidden gems, and has spent her time exploring as much of Aotearoa as possible.
With more than 30 years of experience in the travel industry, Sheena brings a wealth of knowledge to New Zealand Luxury Travel Agents. Travel has always been more than a career for her — it is a genuine passion. Her journey began working aboard cruise ships around the world, giving her first-hand experience of international destinations, cultures and the cruise industry.
Over the years, Sheena has become a true cruise specialist, with extensive knowledge of cruise holidays, cruise extensions, pre- and post-cruise touring, and how to create seamless land arrangements around a client’s voyage. She has also owned and operated a successful travel agency in Perth, Western Australia, helping thousands of clients plan memorable journeys.
Her background includes luxury travel, escorted tours, independent holidays, tailor-made itineraries and complex travel planning. Today, Sheena is delighted to be part of the New Zealand Luxury Travel Agents team, helping visitors experience the very best of New Zealand with care, local insight and thoughtful planning.
